About The Empress of India
Fresh from the successful drawing board of brothers Tom and Ed Martin – owners of gastropubs The White Swan, The Well and The Gun - comes the beautiful Empress of India. More exquisite dining room than pub, it serves a fit-for-a-King Modern British menu of seasonal, locally-sourced classics, many of them meaty affairs cooked within full view and smelling distance on a chrome rotisserie, next to the open kitchen (the Sunday roasts are set to become legendary). A pair of twinkling mussel shell chandeliers and an art deco mirror mark out the impressive bar.

Third time we've eaten at the Empress of India - always great food and service, but as it was Sunday lunchtime it was full of kids running around. Will deinitely go back again, but in the evening.Review
Delightful place in an up and coming Victora Park. Can fall into the trap of thinking it is an Indian restaurant due to name but is more English/European cuisine. There is an Indian restaurant next door if you are desperate for a curry. Friends had prawns, smoked salmon and seabass and suclkng pig which was good. I had a terrine followed by Rib Steak which was good except the steak was a bit charred. Also has a good wine bar so a good place to meet.Review
The food was delicious, really well presented and uncomplicated, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere - best to go there a little later, as it didn't get busy till around half-eight/nine-ish. The service was a little slow but always genial.Visitors
