About The Cock
The Cock sits aside the Great Ouse river in the quaint Village of Hemingford Grey. Six years ago, the building was converted from a local pub in to the elegant dining experience it is today. Yet careful attention to detail has been paid, the pub and restaurant being separate so as to preserve the traditions of the former (where four real ales and an extensive wine list is yours to peruse) and allow concentration on the latter, a place where you can enjoy English and European food served amidst the airy vibe, wooden floors and summery tones of The Cock’s restaurant. Try fresh fish from the daily board, roast meat from locally reared livestock or The Cock’s homemade sausages – fast becoming a well loved signature dish.

A good, friendly gastro-pub which has retained the charm of a village pub. Excellent staff.Review
The Cock has a great ambience and we enjoyed the evening. However we felt the restaurant lacked attention to detail - our starter, soup, was served barely warm and one of the main courses, duck, was served rare, when we asked for medium cook. The restaurant was very apologetic and they were very concerned that the problems were rectified - which they were. They also reduced the bill, to compensate. We felt that this was probably a one-off situation and we will go back.Review
Great evening was had by all. We wer even kept updated with the Rugby scores (having foolishly booked the table for while the match was on). the food was maybe all a little over salted. but cant fault them for size and variety of menu. and great to see lots of game on off.Visitors
