About The Cat's Back
The Cat’s Back in Wandsworth is, frankly, a dream pub. Standing in elegant defiance among identikit ‘riverside living’ flats, it is one of London's most wonderful locals; a proper boozer with it own unmistakable identity. Magical junk-shop décor, vintage soundtrack, occasional live music, corking real ales and ciders, massive Sunday lunches and down-to-earth punters create a moody haven for chain-pub haters who like to keep this special secret to themselves. We don’t blame them. While bar snacks can be snuffled by the fire, bigger meals are reserved for upstairs where a gorgeous Pandora’s Box of a dining room serves a beautifully British menu with a moreish Mediterranean angle, and a wine list to match. Be prepared to fall in love with The Cat’s Back. Instantly.

We've eaten at the Cat's Back many times, and have very much enjoyed the food, wine and pleasantly quirky ambience and style of service. We were disappointed this time. We both ordered rib-eye steaks, one with a delilcious sauce and one without as it contained wheat (no alternative offered!). They were minute steak thin, and served the wrong way round (my medium-rare in the sauce). No checking to see all OK, and all round, not the experience we had come to expect.

The Cat's Back is a quirky pub with a restaurant upstairs. Both the pub and the restaurant have a cosy feel and service was good. We all enjoyed our meals although the starters were a bit pricey.Review
The Cat's Back was a relevation to us as we live close by and did not realise they had a restaurant of such quality. Food was excellent with interesting choices - my baby squid stuffed with chorizo for starterwas wonderful as was my husband's foie gras. My tuna for main course was rare as ordered and tasty, if a little cool. Hubby enjoyed his chicken. Shortish wine list but wines were good and well priced Excellent value for money, especially with the Toptable deal.Visitors
