About The Algarve Restaurant Bar & Grill
Relaxed and informal, The Algarve Restaurant near Wandsworth Common is a traditional Portuguese restaurant inspired by the Mediterranean region of Algarve. The menu offers an excellent selection of fresh fish and seafood, and the sunny interior features cream walls, marine-blue accents and Portuguese tiles and knick-knacks. Our favourite dishes from the extensive selection included the Mexilhao a Bulhao Pato – mussels in wine and garlic sauce with tomatoes and onions, the Travessa de Marisco or seafood platter, and the veal escalopes with mustard sauce. The Algarve Restaurant also offers a delicious range of pastas, vegetarian dishes and salads in addition to the traditional Portuguese fare.

The food was satisfactory, the decor gave the restaurant a welcoming feel, and the service was extremely good. We went on a Saturday at 2000 but unfortunately, the restaurant was almost empty and made the atmosphere a little soulless. Also, we were unhappy with their policy of charging for what we thought was complimentary bread and olives which created a slightly dissapointing end to what was otherwise an enjoyable dining experience on the whole.Review
The Algarve restaurant bar and grill was a nice place to eat. The restaurant was warm and cosy, with good service. The food was nice and spicy, especially the peri peri chicken. A good place for those who like a bit of spice or two.Review
The Algarve Restaurant Bar & Grill is a lovely place! I went there with my husband on Fryday at 6 p.m. We were the only custiomers there so we had 100% of waiter's attention. He expalained us a lot about Portugees cuisine. We ordered a chiken and seafood stew - oh, that was fantastic. Definitely will go back!Visitors
