Taipan restaurant in the heart of Milton Keynes' theatre district is a bright and stylish venue for pre/post theatre meals, corporate events and romantic nights out. The restaurant's elegant light and airy interior is designed with clean lines and a neutral colour palette, providing a contrasting backdrop to the traditional Chinese cuisine. Taipan's classic menu specialises in seafood, and also offers an extensive selection of dim sum. We recommend the baked lobster with ginger and spring onion; the sautéed pork chop with black pepper and honey sauce; fried scallops with asparagus; and the squid with green pepper and black bean sauce. With its impressive menu and sophisticated ambience, Taipan is guaranteed to impress whatever the occasion.

The food at Taipan isn't amazing, but we still had a good night out. The staff were attentive and the restaurant had a nice feel to it.

The Taipan is in the heart of MK's theatre district. There's a personal ,friendly welcome, good attention to detail and plenty of room for large parties at tables with a lazy susan. The food is particularly good and generous. There's a service charge which accounts for one lost point on the score. We'd go back especially for a special occassion as we had chocolate cake for this birthday outing which helped to make it fun.Review
Taipan in Milton Keynes theatre district is a pleasant venue to have a meal. The service was very good and the staff presented a birthday cake to my partner who was celebrating his birthday. A bit pricey at £86.00 for 2 people when theoretically it's chinese food and nothing spectacular, although the prawn toasts were superb! Not sure that I would eat here again due to the prices which I think are a bit high, and the 10% service charge that is automatically added to the bill.Visitors
