Review
We went to the Sweet Mandarin early Friday evening. Was immediately struck by the openness of the place. With the full length windows people walking down the street outside appeared to be nearly in the restaurant. Despite this a very cosy atmosphere and very attentive service. Food was interesting with a different slant on a normal chinese menu. Spicy flaked beef was excellent but the rest just above average. All in all a not unpleasant experience.

A little disappointed as the restaurant was basic with no ambience created. May have been due to an early reservation time. Food was acceptable, not exceptional - a little too salty. somewhat over hyped.Review
The Sweet Mandarin was a good meal but compared to the choices in Chinatown it was not good value for money even with our 20% deal as wellVisitors
