About Silver Darling
Named after a local term for herring, Silver Darling makes the most of a superb spot at the entrance of Aberdeen harbour. Built on the flat roof of the old customs house, the conservatory style restaurant commands panoramic views of the Dee estuary one side, and the length of the beach and headland the other (summer sunsets are priceless). A classic French menu is a triumph of superbly presented dishes, singing with flavour. Three courses at dinner could start with oysters marinated with lime and Granny Smiths, followed by pan-fried Atlantic sea bream in red wine, and the dessert du jour.

Excellent food in an excellent setting. The Silver Darling provides Aberdeen's finest and most expensive dining experience. The delicious fish dishes and tranquil location are enough to balance the additional expense however the service of waiting staff does not match the grandeur of this restaurant.Review
My second visit to the Silver Darling was as good a dining experience as the first, however still lacking in service attentiveness. The food here is worthy of the reasonably high prices and therefore a must to visit when in Aberdeen. When considering like-priced restaurants in Edinburgh, this restaurant lacks a little in service and ambiance.Review
We had a lovely meal at the silver darlings restaurant in Aberdeen. The waiting staff were excellent, attentive without being in your face. The meal was delicious. The main courses weren't quite to our tastes but we'd ordered new things and there was nothing wrong with them. Our starters were delicious, my sorbet pudding was wonderful and the whole evening was one we hope to repeat soon.Visitors
