Sagardi Diagonal Mar restaurant is found at the start of Barcelona’s iconic Avenida Diagonal next to the Forum convention centre and on the third floor of the exciting Diagonal Mar commercial centre. Great location. This elevated position gives this charming, typical restaurant – based on a traditional Basque cider house -- views to the sea both from both the delightful terrace and the dining room. The Sagardi group of restaurants has a soaring respect for the traditions of Basque cuisine and have created close partnerships with the finest suppliers and producers in the region. Sagardi Diagonal Mar offers a full menu as well as a choice of 80 pintxos. The heart of the kitchen is the holm oak wood grill where dishes like grilled cod or bone-grilled pigeon are prepared, though we’d be tempted by baby squid in ink sauce or the mixed seasonal veg with Iberian pork loin. Guests help themselves to cider from the huge barrels. Lots of wood paneling and planking gives this well-designed restaurant a modern rustic feel. What a great place to entertain colleagues when meeting at the Forum – gastronomic and special menus are sure to appeal and the setting is lovely.
