Safa remains our favourite Camberwell / Denmark Hill area restaurant. The chicken xacutti (sp?) is simply one of the best Indian dishes I have ever tasted. The king prawn main dish was also wonderful as was the lamb dish. The only disappointments were the starters. The "Indian pizza" was nearly £5 and consisted of one small round piece of bread no more than 5 cm in diameter...one of the worst value starters I've ever purchased. The dal had the consistency of soup, also very disappointing.

Safa continues to serve the most delicious and spicy Indian food in London. If Safa were in central London, it would be impossible to book a table. The Chicken Xacutti has to be the tastiest South Asian chicken dish in London. The veggie samosas were lovely and packed with fresh vegetables instead of the typical peas and potatos. The service was fantastic, a huge improvement over prior recent visits. Could it be because we were joined by two beautiful women? I'm not complaining.

Working in East Ham I rarely bother with curry away from my trusted favourites but the rave reviews tempted me to Safa and it's close to my girlfriend. Great meal but we made the mistake of picking the Rugby World Cup final nuight so it took 30 minutes for our order to arrive as the bustling takeaway trade was dealt with. Fortunatley we'd recorded the first half hour and next time we may be well be part of the takeaway trade. The quality food would make an ideal accompanyment to any TV sport

Four friends of mine joined me for a Saturday evening dinner at Safa. It was my fourth visit and the food, as always, was light and delicious. The salmon tikka dish was phenomenal and chicken xacutti is an amazing explosion of flavours. However the service was indifferent, bordering on hostile. The waiters went out of their way to be rude to us & had to be reminded two or three times about items ordered (like water). We ordered tap water but were instead brought expensive bottled water.

Safa is brilliant- the best Indian I know! We often get takeaways from here as the food is outstanding, and the restaurant is lovely and the staff are superb. The Makhani Chicken is highly recommended. Faultless as always!

a great find in camberwell. the menu is varied without being overcomplicated and the food was of a very good standard. Would have been nice to have a bit more atmosphere but it was very early and made it nice for a cosy romantic meal. the bill was a pleasant suprise as well!

This is our local Indian restaurant which we use both frequently to eat in & take-away. The quality of the food is good, much superior than you would expect from a local restaurant yet not expensive.
