About Ronnie's
Ronnie’s restaurant in the heart of Thornbury has turned a crumbling 17th century building into a lively, stylish eaterie and coffee lounge. The exposed natural stonework and beamed ceilings are hung with a changing exhibition of art works from Castle Gallery. Chef-owner Ronnie Faulkner brings years of training and experience in the kitchens of stars like Anton Mosimann to his inventive modern European cuisine prepared with a British twist. Signature dishes include seasonal dishes like seared scallops wrapped in bacon, rump of Cornish lamb with baby spring veg and lemon. Local produce is the rule, and wines are supplied by boutique vintners with many available by the glass.

Atmosphere is perfect for an intimate supper and the service was relaxed and not rushed. Food is excellent - surprisingly sophisticated for Thornbury and the chef was engaging and interested in our comments. If you choose A La Carte and a good wine, it does get a bit pricey, but the set menu is also good. Perfect for a special occasion or a relaxed and quiet meal with friends. We will defintely be back!Review
My second visit and I was not disapointed. There were alot more poeple there this time which added to the ambience and the quality or food or service did not suffer. It is still a little expensive for an average night out which may restrict the number of times I can affrod to return but it is well worth the cost.Visitors
