About Ristorante Librizzi
With its wonderful food and intimate atmosphere Librizzi is very popular with locals. Tall white walls frame a smart yet cosy space in which elegant black chairs sit at white linen-draped tables. Chef Filippo Librizzi promises 'the true taste of Sicily' in an exciting culinary diversion from the well-worn track of Italian food. The lunch menu offers classic dishes such as grilled sardines, and succulent lamb and pork meatballs served with sauteed potatoes. At night, by candlelight, the table d'hote menu lists simple, fresh fish, meat and pasta dishes such as pasta quills with Sicilian sausage in a tomato and chilli sauce. Filippo's love of fish is reflected in the fish specials which change every few days. Desserts are divine.

What a delighful venue. The staff were attentive, but not overpowering. The food was delightful, however i did expect more choice from an italian - however all dishes served were scrumptious. The wine was of a good standard and reasonably priced. I would definately visit this restaurant again next time i visit Edinbrugh. NB: Those with mobility difficulties may have problems as the entrance is up some steps and the toilets are down stairs.

We went to Librizzi on a Friday evening. Was very busy but service good. Food OK but nothing special. My wife ordered clams hoping would be fresh, but they obviously weren't.Visitors
