About Rhodes W1 Brasserie

Marble Arch’s has become a somewhat of a gastro-destination thanks to celeb chef Gary Rhodes’ W1 Brasserie. Located in the Cumberland Hotel, Chef Rhodes has brought his extraordinary passion for classic British cuisine to the table, complete with a stylish and fashionable restaurant to eat it in. Try melting braised oxtail with mashed potoatoes or whole grilled plaice with sweet red pepper butter. Save room for pudding though, as nearly all your favourites from childhood are on the menu. Our favourite? A world class sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce.

Firstly the thing we noticed about Rhodes W1 is that it was virtually empty on arrival and it stayed like this for the duration of our meal. We would have thought that on a bank holiday a venue like this would be impossible to get a table at but it seems there are much better things to do in the Hyde Park area than eat here. The food was distinctly average and the ribeye possibly had more fat than meat. There are much better dining venues at much better value for money to be had in London.

Rhodes W1 Brasserie was an exemplary dining experience... an exquisite meal situated in a sparkling atmosphere. The service charmed us while we ruminated, cogitated and digested.

My husband and I ate at W1 Brasserie on Boxing Day it was by far the best meal we had whilst staying in London. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the resturant was beautiful. Food wise I have to recommend the Ham and Piccalilli starter, Sea bass and don't ,mss the chocolate mousse which is the best I have ever tasted! All in all a fantastic meal for just over £100 will definitely be going back!.
