About Restaurant Kai
Kai is the Maori word for food. It is also the name of a new restaurant in Frederiksberg that seeks to introduce guests to a cuisine inspired by the Pacific region. The restaurant is light with a natural wood floor and comfortable leather chairs - there is capacity to serve up to 45 guests. The walls in Kai are decorated with 'tapa cloth', a Polynesian art form prevalent in the Pacific region. The cloth is made from mulberry tree bark which is pounded flat and then decorated with natural dyes.
