Acting as a friendly oasis of calm from the usual tourist-laden hustle and bustle of the area, this grand hotel restaurant offers outstanding value for money modern European food in both casual and more formal settings. Start your meal with the luxurious duck liver parfait with redcurrant, shallot and pink peppercorn marmalade with toasted brioche, or perhaps roasted Mediterranean vegetable salad with pine nuts, marinated shiitake mushroom in a soya honey and balsamic vinegar for the more figure conscious. Mains offer unusual vegetarian choices, fresh fish dishes such as seared mullet and home smoked salmon fishcakes and a great selection of meat. We thought the restaurant was nice the food good but no atmosphere. Perhaps good for a large party as no one was there. Not good for impressing clients.Visitors
