About Resource

Resource restaurant is a Brussels centre of Slow Food. This elegant restaurant is the offspring of award-winning chef Christian Baby Yumbi and his wife and partner, the multilingual Sarah Alewaters. A short stroll from the Grand Place and Manneken Pis, this shop-front eaterie is decorated with taste and restraint – exposed brick or cream-coloured walls, chocolate leather chairs and banquettes, glowing white table linen, muted modern art, a terrace for warm weather, a dash of scarlet here and there. Re-Source is a restaurant with a philosophy, to propagate modernity in a cuisine that respects tradition. The Congolese Yumbi, who trained in some of Paris’s starriest kitchens, has created an urbane, innovative style of cooking. The emphasis is on fresh fish and veg, and dishes may include starter of Breton langoustines in two preparations, roasted in the shell and in cannelloni, main course of planked mackerel with artichoke mayonnaise and garlic powder, and dessert of classic tarte fine au citron. Expect a degustation of fresh seasonal veg and an entremet ‘of the moment’. A slow food menu changes daily according to the season, market and mood of the chef. The wine list is weighted toward ‘natural’ wines. Small private parties up to 35 can enjoy memorable meals here.

On arrival, please inform the restaurant that your booking was made via toptable.
