About Rasa - Maricham
If you're a fan of the Rasa restaurants, and there are many of you
about, or just a fan of Keralan cuisine, then you should make a
beeline for Rasa Maricham. Kerala is to black pepper what Bordeaux
is to, well, bordeaux, the growing region of multiple, subtly
different types, and Rasa Maricham is here to showcase some of them.
Set in the Kings Cross Holiday Inn, Rasa Maricham is a smart
restaurant with keen waitstaff who know their stuff. Pepper
enthusiasts should try the Parippu lentil soup, the Masala Vadai,
and the peppercorn and coconut rice, though the afore-mentioned Rasa
fans will find favourites both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, too.
Opening hours:
Mon - Sat 6pm - 10:30pm

Menu small, but good. Atmosphere awful - breakfast room of the Holiday Inn, and Christmas music being piped through! Expect black pepper in every dish (including desserts). Staff inexperienced.Review
Rasa Maricham focuses on Kerala food. It's very spicy indeed, but a welcome change from run-of-the-mill indian food, and extremely well prepared. Service is really very slow, but attentive, thoughtful and helpful. Don't be put off by the fact that the restaurant is in the Holiday Inn - and do be encouraged bu the easy parking in the area. All in all an extremely enjoyable evening.Review
We enjoyed our meal at Rasa in Kings Cross. We were a little wary about the fact that it was based in a Holiday Inn but they had made the restaurant very comfortable and the candle on the table made for a romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious and very filling.Visitors
