About POND

Brought to you by the same team who own Duk Tapas Restaurant, Pond is a fantastic Peruvian Hacienda style tapas lounge and wine bar on Cannon Street in Preston, only minutes from the station and Fishergate shopping centre. With comfy sofas, whiskey wine barrel tables, Spanish and Cuban music and a down-to-earth bodega-style vibe – Pond is a fantastic spot for post-shopping drinks and after work meals with friends and colleagues. Our favourite tapas dishes include the chorizo with scallops in a light sherry sauce, and the sticky blueberry steak with caramelised red onions and blueberries. To finish with, we recommend Pond's signature bowl of berries with chocolate dip and a glass of Peruvian brandy.

We were a party of eight at Pond on a Tuesday afternoon (celebrating a graduation). As we had not been before the waiter recommended a fixed price banquet. We were not disappointed - a pile of food of various dishes that was varied and very tasty. Esp the meatballs and the chilli chicken. Service was excellent and very friendly. The only fault was that we did not have bigger bellies to continue enjoying the food. Highly recommended!

Pond is a sweet place for a cosy lunch, albeit a little quiet on the day we visited. Food and service was good

Pond, Cannon Street, Preston: Being a Wednesday evening it was fairly quiet (maybe 4 or 5 occupied tables) so the staff were attentive and helpful explaining the menus and the tapas experience! We ordered a banquet for 2 and allowed the chef to cook a sample from across the menu. It has a distinct South American Spanish bias, so meatballs, chorizo, fish, prawns, pork in spicy and tomato sauces. The food was good and hot and even at the lowest price bracket plenty for 2 people. Recommended.
