I've heard about Pomegranates and always fancied eating there. It didn't disappoint. Ours was a flying visit but a delightful one. The staff were so courteous and friendly and no-one grumbled when we didn't stick to the Christmas set menu. My steak was wonderful and my companion's lamb was memorably good. We'll definitely go back.

Pomegranetes is a bit of a blast from the past - authentic 70s decor is one thing (and a bit dusty it is too in the dark recesses between lights and mirrored ceilings...) authentic 70s food is another - although strangely comforting and tasty actually on our recent visit. The only serious complaint is the price - £40 per head for smoked salmon from the smorgasboard, turkey and christmas pud is pushing the season of goodwill to restauranteurs s bit too far for me...but I'd return to try the card.

Pomegranates. I was a little disspointed as I had heard it had the best steak tartar in town but we had to choose from a Christmas Menu which did not include steak tartar. The soup had too much cognac in it I was drank by the time I finished it and which did spoil the taste. The main was also mediocre and I felt it was expensive for what it was but may be we chose badly.

The flavors were nice at Pomegranites restaurant, but the portion sizes for the price were not very good. We arrived a little early and were seated anyway, as the restaurant wasn't even open yet. Everyone was nice and the owner came by the table to see how we were. A great place for a business dinner.

It's a traditional, dependable neighbourhood restaurant. Owner was rightly proud to tell us he's been on the block for 33 years. A little too 'good old fashioned' for my liking though, perhaps being two 30 years olds we were too young for the place, (certainly judging by the other clientele in the restaurant we could be forgiven for thinking this) None-the-less excellent food, wonderful choice, friendly, professional proprietor, just a bit too pricy (£8.50 starters, £24 mains)

Pomegranates was lovely - it has a touch of class and really good food. WE went on a Wednesday so it was a little quite and it was a little hard getting the bill at the end. We had the set menu and the choices were really nice - gravalax, cheese pate or soup, mains were also good - stuffed peppers, lamb asian style. Would be back for more.

Stepping into Pomegranates is a little like stepping into a time warp with its 50's decor and ambience. It might not appeal to all, but my girlfriend and I thought it was great. The service was attentive but not too fussy and the food was excellent on the whole. I mistakenly ordered crab soup to start which for a non fish lover has to go down as an error, but the duck pate, lamb and sea bass were perfect. Very generous measures of our liqueurs finished off the evening nicely. Recommended.

Very much enjoyed the food - we both had steak that was cooked exactly how we requested. I wasn't crazy about my avocado starter, however my partner enjoyed his oyster starter. We look forward to returning to Pomegranates and would definitely recommend.
