About Paternoster Chop House
With Paternoster Chop House, the D&D group proudly display their love of all things British. Situated in Paternoster Square, directly behind St Paul’s, the interior is modern and unpretentious, with simple white walls and grey slate flooring. The sweeping bar is partly made of native oak, while the red and brown seating is upholstered in local leather. Head Chef Peter Weeden provides an ever-changing seasonal menu that includes dishes like smoked haddock, poached egg, sea plantain & mustard; Galloway beef cottage pie; and Middle White pig, Bramley apple sauce. Their Sunday roasts are very popular, with all meat bought on the bone and butchered in-house to offer a wide range of cuts and cooking styles. With cheesecakes, chocolate puddings and red gooseberry fool on offer; make sure you leave room for pudding!

Paternoster deserves to be congratulated for some of the best service I have seen in a London restaurant. Whilst menu prices are towards the more expensive end of London dining, portions are more than plentiful and the food deserving of the restaurant's excellent reputation, the scallops being noteworthy. One word of warning however, most of our main courses arrived without accompanying vegatables or salad, so order side dishes to temper the otherwise large plate of just meat.Review
The Paternoster Chop House was full to the rafters with Christmas revellers when I visited it for the first time. This may have been the cause for our food to be forgotten (a computer error apparently) and then for the lamb to arrive cremated. It was an average meal, verging on the salty, and at 6pm they had already run out of side dishes. The staff were polite, but obviously over stretched and under pressure. Butlers Wharf Chop House is far superior - perhaps some lessons need to be learnedReview
The food here was great. Fantastic venue for our client lunch.Visitors
