Papillon is a very smart and chic French restaurant. The food and service were both very good. It's quite a small restaurant and when full was quite noisy - otherwise, no complaints.

Delicious and authentic fish soup, garlic snails and partridge at Papillon last night. Wines a tad expensive. Service friendly but professional - all in all a most enjoyable experience.

We had an excellent lunch at Papillon. I really love this place for Sunday lunch; it is quiet but lively at the same time; service is friendly. The food is absolutely excellent, and I am never disappointed. I would again highly recommend Papillon for anyone who enjoys good food at a reasonable price.

Papillon was a huge dissapointment. The snails to start were not even in their shells and were very bland, the fish soup was also bland. the main courses arrived late and all were cold. they were sent back and were returned hot but were nothing special for the price. the chips were hard and tasted as if they'd been cooked in week old oil. the lemon sorbet was too bitter to eat. mens toilets were flooded and were leaking right by our table. at £60 pp it was a rip off and we won't go back.

Papillon is pricy but one would expect that for the area. Food is French, as are the staff, and consistently good. Winelist is extensive but not intimidating.

Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough! Food was excellent! Service was a little on the slow side, but there were 8 of us and we were early! Great for a romantic evening or a larger party. Not cheap, but worth the money. Have been many times and have loved it every time.

Papillon The restaurant is an ideal choice as it is open for early dinner. The location and venue were perfect for our anniversary celebration. The service was excellent and the food up to French standards. We had plenty of time to go the cinema afterwards.

Papillon was a revelation. The tomato tart with squid was mouth wateringly delicious as was the artichoke. The steak was cooked to perfection and my fish managed to be flavoursome but light at the same time. Finished off with some cheese. I think this place is perfect for a romantic dinner or a business dinner. Great staff/great food and ambience. The wine list was a little scary but we managed to drink a decent bottle of Fleurie for a reasonable price. Really impressed and I will return.
