About Ono
Oh yes. Ono Japanese restaurant in the Meatpacking District’s fabulous Hotel Gansevoort is one fantastic must-try restaurant. Luxuriously appointed with glass-bottomed sushi bar, secluded tatami nooks, softly-floating paper lanterns, dishy kimono-clad wait staff, and New York’s greatest indulgence: outdoor space. Ono’s garden is heated in the winter with private cabanas over a glass-topped floating pond. This is modern Japanese cooking for a new millennium, with starters like Ono parfait with uni, foie gras, tofu and flavoured agar-agar, and Ono creamy edamame alphabet soup poured over tofu carved to spell out ‘ONO’. The Robata skewers are a specialty here, both classic (salmon, chicken, kobe beef) and creative combos like duck and dried fig robata. The sushi is renowned, particularly the gunkan style/battleship sunnyside-up quail egg with white truffle oil. A sake sommelier will guide you through the vast sake menu. The stars come out to play frequently at Ono. Enjoy.Booking Tip: Please try to make your New York booking at least 48 hours in advance.

Japanese Garden was nice, but it was really busy and a lot of people were outside having a drink rather than eating. Other than that, the food was delicious, highly recommended and it was excellent value! Would definitely return.Review
