About Obento
Obento, thanks its considerable selection of all too tempting bento boxes, noodle dishes, curries and tempura on offer, has been a favourite of anyone searching for an authentic Japanese restaurant and night out in Bristol since it opened in May 2005. The restaurant’s more than reasonable prices, relaxed atmosphere, cutting edge minimalist decor and friendly staff all probably helped a bit too, as did the sushi menu and the fact that portions for the set meals for two are reportedly so large that you might just be able to feed a secret third person if you keep them hidden under the table.

My Partner and I visited Obento the other night, the food was excellent both in appearance and taste, the venue was just perfect and the staff very friendly. The only thing I would advise is that good food takes time and the staff are not overly attentive once they have taken your order. We did have to wait until our food arrived before we got a drink. Having said that the food more than made up for this.

Obento - Bristol This was my second visit and my partner's first. having got over his slight uncomfortable feeling at not being able to fully recognise the menu - we ordered. My partner's chicken was not to his taste and this was immediately rectified by the staff - who after a slight wait presented him with a refilled Bento Box and a piece of chicken that he stated was succulent and tasty. The service and food were very good and resulting bill for two which was very reasonable.Review
Obento is perfect for sushi lovers, great portions of lovely fresh fish from a very wide ranging menu. For people who don't like Sushi there is a good selection of alternatives. Service is also excellent.Visitors
