About Noor Jahan
There's something special about Noor Jahan that not only attracts big-name eaters - Hugh Grant, Eric Clapton and Rowan Atkinson, but also a veritable army of devoted regulars who make a habit of dining there. Maybe it's the Chef specialities, like the special recipes for chicken, lamb, king prawns and duck, but also our own British invention of chicken tikka masala. Lunchtimes are slightly subdued with the business of the day, but evenings are more vivacious and warm. The decor is simple, the service welcoming, and the cooking convincing. No wonder Noor Jahan has been a local landmark for nearly forty years.
Last orders for food at lunch is 1pm.

Noor Jahan - South Kensington The restaurant was busy when we arrived, but we were found a table promptly and served with poppadoms and dips. We were not rushed to order our main course, which made a nice change. We both ordered Chicken Korma with Pilau rice and a naan bread, which was all delicious and not at all greasy. The only slight criticism was that it took a long time for our bill to arrive, and we had to ask for it twice. Altogether, it was a very good meal and I will be returning.

Don’t be fooled by the overzealous staff and attentive service, it comes at a price. Servings were disappointingly small, side dishes were cleared before we had finished with them, and when I questioned the suspiciously high unitemised bill I discovered we had been charged for a number of items we hadn't ordered, and were then prompted ushered out the door.Review
We have eaten at Noor Jahan 2 at Lancaster Gate many, many times and have found it much better than Noor Jahan 1. Main meal came almost immediately after starters - we did not have a chance to finish starters. Shrimp over cooked in one of the dishes and sauces ok but not a patch on their new restaurant.Visitors
