About Nipa
In the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Nipa restaurant has been named after the original Nipa Restaurant in the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok. Lots of teak panelling, traditional Thai furnishings and artefacts lend an authentic air. All the staff dressed in traditional Thai costume are from Thailand - even the lady chefs. This authentic Thai restaurant is one of the first 15 recipients of the 'Thai Select' award - this award has been described as being the first ever Michelin-style award for Thai restaurants proven to be performing to the highest standards of quality and cuisine, and is awarded by the Thai Government. We think this award sums up Nipa Thai rather nicely. What's cooking? Kai Haw Bai Toey - deep fried marinated chicken in pandanus leaves, Kaeng Kiew Warn Kai - chicken in green curry soup, also recommended the Nipa platter - a selection of the chef's special Thai starters.
Opening hours:
Mon - Sat 6.30pm - 10.30pm. Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I had lunch at the Nipa Thai. This is a lovely intimate restaurant in a beautiful hotel. The view is amazing, looking over hyde park. The food was fresh and extremly good value with the toptable lunch offer. The staff were polite and very helpful to cater for the veggies in the group. I would gladly go back!Review
The atmospher was not great at all, by the time we got our food which was just ok we was the only one's left in there.Review
We dined at Nipa on Saturday night. We ate quite early at appoximately 7pm. It wasn't very busy; perhaps 4 other dining tables. Everything was OK - food, service, ambience etc. I've had much better food at our local resturants. Slightly disappointing.Visitors
