About Nineteen Restaurant
Nineteen Restaurant is a sophisticated little gem nestled in York’s vibrant Grape Lane. Situated in one of York’s oldest buildings, dating back to 1437, Nineteen provides a relaxing and contemporary atmosphere. The assured menu boasts plenty of fresh seafood and local North Yorkshire produce. Popular dishes include the Whitby fish pie with cheesy topping and the char-grilled ribeye steak served with Bearnaise and triple cooked chips. If that’s not enough to make your date doe-eyed, try reminding them that Grape Lane was once an infamous institution in York’s old red light district, known to locals as ‘Grope Lane’.

Lovely restaurant, cosy and friendly service. We were in a hurry so were only able to have one course, but the food was great, although you need to order sides separately, we didn't do that and the portion therefofre appeared rather small, but the standard of food was terrific.Review
Went to Nineteen Restaurant and had the set Christmas muenu. Food was excellent, freshly cooked and at a reasonable price. The parsnip soup was delicious, although we were a little disappointed there was no crusty bread accompanying, as stated on the menu. When we asked for this we were brought a few slices of limp bread. However, would definitely recommend this restaurant for food and value.Review
quaint and beautiful restaurant, but packed too many tables in to accommodate the extra christmas shoppers which didn't make for a very comfortable night. left early. would prefer to enjoy it another time.Visitors
