Four of us went in the end and had the samsi set menu and there was ample food. Would like to go back and try something less generic, but the tempura was lovely. Great service and the deep set tables which give you the sense of sitting on the floor were a nice touch but difficult to do wearing a skirt! The shop in the basement is like a treasure chest well worth a look on the way from the bizarre toilets. great place to introduce friends to Japanese food!

The food at Samsi was excellent as was the service we received. It was a very enjoyable experience marred only by the fact that the staff seem unaware of 'top table's offer'. You are therefore offered the standard early diner offer although this applies any time if you have booked. Thsi is perhaps better value than 'top table's offer' in any event but a little confusing. All in all a lovely meal out.

table for 7 on a huge hangover - the sushi was perfect, the tempura light and tasty and 25% off the a la carte menu made the bill really reasonable - New Samsi is usually is my great but pricey pile - not any more! oh - and the UV toilets are brilliant - maybe not on a hangover but much amusing...

Our visit to New Samsi restaurant was the perfect (and extremely good value) start to our night out. We ate from the special £10.50 offer menu- there was plenty of choice for each course with a couple of vegetarian options for each. The food came in lightening fast time making the New Samsi an ideal place to eat before a night out. The staff were friendly and efficient. However, the highlight definately had to be the fabulous japanese deli downstairs which must be perused between courses!!

Great food, really nice service and a bargin for a 4 course meal at £13.75. In thse resturants you get the next course straight away - its a tradition for japanese meals. The food was really nice, not to heavy like american food but is really satisfying.

New samsi, nice setting. Seem to be abit under staffed with one person trying to get round everyone. No real conversation, suggestions. No mention of deal off toptable. Had sushi, sachimi selection to start, felt fish could of been fresher. Tempura and salmon for main were good. Overall good for newbies like us but not anyone looking for the best sushi. Not bad prices overall. Good for meal out but nothing special.

We visited the New Samsi restaurant in Manchester, it was our first proper Japanese meal. We were spoilt for choice with the menu, so opted for a banquet style meal. The sushi was superb and the rest of the meal was very good, but lots of it. I wouldn't bother with the sweet course again, it was the worst part of the meal. The staff were very pleasant friendly. Good value for money.
