About Axis Bar & Restaurant - Formerly Mosaic
Axis occupies part of the ground floor overlooking the courtyard of the Hilton Islington and does a very good job of keeping up with the Joneses (the Business Design Exhibition Centre is next door). A very design-led space, it's furnished with comfy sofas,rthe pefect place to unwind infront of the floor to ceiling windows; rather dramatic. The food is Mediterranean combined with traditional british. Daily-changing mezze are the dishes to start with, favourites include Patatas Bravas and Parma Ham with roasted Plums. Diners are predominantly business people and hotel guests, though couples do come in the evening when low lighting and candlelight create a nice, romantic atmosphere.

I would highly recommend Mosaic, cant really fault it at all. Think i will be going again but next time maybe not mid week as there was very little atmosphere.Review
Went to mosaic for lunch hoping for the meze menu however the lunch menu is very limited to standard hotel food, such as the club sandwich, burgers and pasta. The service was reasonable, the food was ok, there wasn't much atmosphere - generally the place was "ok". No complaints, but probably not worth going to unless you happen to be staying in the Hilton.Visitors
