About Mez Bar and Restaurant
“A taste of the Med on the Isle of Dogs” – perhaps not the most appealing of slogans, but it’s true at least. The Mez kitchen is run by Recep Turkan who has poured his world-class expertise into the adventurous, generous Turkish menu of authentic casseroles, grills, seafood and salads. And it’s not just the heady combination of flavours and textures that’s worth a repeat visit, but the presentation. Take the lemon sole cooked in a sautéed spinach, white wine, cream and almond sauce. It’s all here. If you don’t know much about Turkish food, Mez is a fine place to start learning.
A credit card is required to reserve a table, if there is availability - this is simply to secure your booking, absolutely no money will be charged to the card except in the case of late cancellations. A fee of £10 per person will be charged for a cancellation within 24 hours or for a no show
There are belly dancers to entertain every Wed - Sat at no extra cost.

Review
Service was good. Starters were excellent but my main course was cold and a little bland. I was drinking rose wine and the first one I tried was a little rough - OK once I changed to Pinot Grigio Rose though. I would recommend ordering loads of starters and skipping the mains. Live entertainment was good!

The Mez Restuarnt was fairly busy for early on a friday evening. There was a good buzy atmosphere about the place with two musicians playing in the background. The waiters were attentive and the menu had a wide range of mediteranian dishes. The portions were fairly large and the food generally was well cooked and interesting. The sole was especially good. We will visiting again in the near future.Review
The Mez is a very welcoming and friendly Turkish restaurant in Docklands. All the staff including chef and all waiting staff are Turkish and the food is good nice Turkish food - good quality, well cooked and reasonably priced. They have a fabulous singer and guitarist who sing lovely melodic tunes - this adds a very pleasant ambience to the whole place. A very nice. pleasant place for an easy and unhurried dinner.Visitors
