The food at Mercado was good, however not the most imaginative menu choices. It was very good value with the toptable offer. No complaints with the service. I would go back.

The inviting warm decor at Mercado (Stoke Newingtonton Church Street)is coupled with authenic music, helpful service and great food. It's nice to find a wide selection of quality south american food and cocktails, for such great prices with a relaxed, bordering on party, atmosphere. My boyfriends only complaint was that he fancied a chimichanga but in my opinion he didn't really need his burrito deep fried. 9/10 overall!

I'm new to Stoke Newington but now I know where to get good fajitas - Mercado. The service took a while to get going, and the sour cream is not the same as I'd expect in an American Tex-Mex restaurant, but I'll definitely go back with my TopTable discount offer.

Fun mexican canteen style food - all simple but good. 'Vibrant' atmosphere though a little loud, and the tables are well crammed in - think it is better for a group night out rather than a meal for two. Service was friendly, though sometimes a little confused as there were a lot of different waiting staff - we had to reorder drinks when they didn't arrive, but all very polite.

I'd recommend going on a friday/saturday night, the atmosphere is great as there is live music. With the 50% offer, it was great value.

Good value for money with toptable offer. Food was great and the cocktails were lovely too. Service not so sure as we had to wait for quite a while for our extra totila order.

I thought this was a good meal for great value. The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is ace - loved the skeleton paintings on the wall, was very tempted to purchase it after my bottle of wine. The food is tasty - loved the argentine steak. Definitely worth a visit!

A fun, lively venue with margaritas swiftly served by friendly staff. Luscious tiger prawn salad starters led us to expect a better main course, but we were disappointed by the stodgy burritos where rice, guacamole, cream, meat and sauce were all blended into one glutinous glob ingredient. The 2 for 1 deal made it worthwhile though!

Mercado is a welcome addition to Stoke Newington Church Street. When it first opened the food was outstanding and so truly Mexican - which is not so easy to come by... however, the food seems to have been anglicized and has lost some of its original appeal and originality. My 2 favorite parts of the meal was the salsa (ask for extra and put it on everything!) and the chili beer (beer drinkers will love this zippy twist on the standard). The cocktails are wonderful - even those without booze.
Eg. italian, Ritz, Benitos, meatballs...
