Megu reinvents the Japanese restaurant as theatre Megu is huge, although you wouldn't know it, intelligently divided as it is into lounges, sushi bar and dining areas. The downstairs dining room is utterly luxurious, with almost circular booths, a gargantuan temple bell and a slowly melting ice Buddha who is replaced each evening to melt again, like, um, life. The colours are deco-esque gold, white and red, and every detail is carried through to its ideal expression. You'll be greeted by graceful hosts, welcoming shouts and a feeling of awe at the loveliness of the place. The menu is huge too, even without the glossary and maps, so let the highly-trained staff guide you through the exquisitely-presented dishes. You might try premium Kobe steak 'Kagerou Yaki' with Hennessy flambe, or salmon toro tartare with salmon roe sauce and wasabi soy mousse.
