About Malmaison Brasserie - Birmingham
Malmaison Brasserie restaurant in Birmingham’s cool shopping and nightlife centre, The Mailbox, has all the sassy styling you’d expect from the Malmaison family (Hotel Group of the Year no less). The masculine styling of the dining room – black floor, dark leather banquettes and upholstery, dark dividers between tables – somehow makes the diners glow. The feeling is buzzy and happening, and why not with servers this friendly, drinks this good and food that aims ever higher. The modern European menu features a top-notch Mal Burger, and Malmaison Brasserie’s exciting Homegrown and Local menu, featuring food ‘from field to plate in no time flat’ is completely seasonal and all produced within thirty miles of the front door. Open from breakfast onwards.

Review
We visited Malmaison Brasserie - Birmingham on Friday 28th December for lunch. The restaurant was quiet although the service was surprisingly slow despite this. It didn't spoil our meal as we were happy to have a long lunch and the food was excellent. One particular member of staff couldn't speak or understand english very well which made things a little tricky also. I would consider going again but it wouldn't necessarily be my first choice.

Three of my friends was running a bit late being stuck in traffic from Wolverhampton. I called to ask if we could push the reservation 30 minutes later but whoever answered the call at Malmaison made a fuss about a few large groups coming in. Fair enough, so we decided to go to Lazeez instead.Review
We visited Malmaison on Satuday night and it had a good atmosphere. Ordering wine proved to be hard to do, the wine waitress was very elusive and we had to leave the table to ask for our order to be taken. Our second wine order also failed to arrive until we reminded the waitress. No shellfish was requested in a main course as one of our party had an allergy, it still appeared! Cheesecake was disappointing being small and dry and had to be returned, although this was taken off our bill.Visitors
