Another fantastic meal at Livebait - marvellous food, service and ambiance - what more could a girl want? We took some friends for their first visit and they loved it!

the food tasted good but the portions were very small. Had this been stated we would have ordered of the main menu.

Livebait Leeds - The setting and service was great and we were really looking forward to it, however as you enter the restaurant it looks a bit like an American Diner with holes in the chairs. I had the Whitebait for starters and it was OK but there were far too many (and I am a big eater!) The wife went for Crab cakes which were nice. For mains we both had Cod which again was OK but very dry, none of the courses had sauce so we were gagging for drinks which I felt were expensive at £4each

When to Livebait in Leeds last night and really enjoyed the whole night. The food was lovely and the service was great. For a Tuesday night the whole place was packed which add to the atmosphere. I has the crab cakes followed by the cod for the set menu. And the choice on the dessert menu was fantastic. The only down side was the the fact you had to buy the side dishes separately, of which there was a great selection of potatoes but not much else. I'd definately go back again.

We went on a Wednesday evening, was very quiet, filled up by the time we left. We chose the Fish Platter to share between the 2 of us. We are both big eaters decided if the menue was to be believed than we could give the straters a miss. What a great decision, it arrived beatifully presented and we asked for a tray of assorted bread, in fact we had two at no charge. The platter was astounding in quantity, quality of the shellfish, must mention the most enourmous crab I have seen in, brilliant.

The smell of the food hits you the instant you arrive..absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is really nice, quite small but has a lovely glass windowed ceiling & has a patio area outside where you can dine. However, it took the staff 30 minutes to offer us a drink, the service was very slow. All staff were rushed off their feet and the restaurant was not full, definitely short staffed. The special offer menu is very restricted with only a choice between 4 mains, 3 of which are vegetarian.

After reading previous reviews on Livebait I was a little anxious although I had absolutely nothing to worry about!! The food was excellent, our group chose the Lobster, Tuna marinaded with Indian Spice and the Lemon Sole - all of which were cooked to perfection. The Service was great as we had the Assistant Manager waiting our table although the General Manager upset one of the group by being patronising and sniffy when asked what a specific dessert dish contained.

I have been to Livebait many times, but this last visit was brilliant - the shellfish plate was to die for and amazing value at £10.95. The staff were attentive and fun - altogether a fantastic evening
