Restaurant Lieve in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district is something new and different. The modern space, with its soaring ceilings, contrasts nicely with more historic buildings nearby. And behind the contemporary frontage wait three different dining experiences – they’ll explain it over a drink in the drawing room. Food and drink are identical in all three, it’s your experience that differs. There is Living Room offering a classic three-course event in a cosy, family-style dining room. The Belgian Baroque is remisicent of the high-living Burgundian dukes, with food served on sharing platters. The Gastronomical ambience is meant for an evening of full enjoyment of the pleasures of the palate. Dishes are served in small starter or tapas sizes with wine pairings recommended. In all three ambiences, you may choose a pocket-easy wine or beer arrangement that includes drinks with your meal. The menu changes seasonally incorporating classic and modern Dutch dishes and include, for instance, starter of terrine of veal, onions and potatoes with piccallily, main course of tuna steak with poppy seeds and star anis balsamic vinegar gravy, and dessert of tarragon bavarois with marinated fruit and raspberry beer. Groups up to 54 are very welcome indeed.

Didn't seem to be enough staff at Lieve and the service was pretty slow. Food was Ok though very heavy. Very nice decor inside - it's a very nice space.Review
The place is perfect for a quiet dinner, and it is situated in a very centrated place in the city. Maybe the only negative thing I have to comment is the timming between first course and the second course, it is too much...Review
A great night out. We chose the 'tapas style' and between 4 of us we shared 6 starters, 8 mains and 6 desserts. A great range of new foods to try and I will definitely go back. The only downside was that it was quite warm and the time between starters and mains was a little long.Visitors
