About l'auberge at the Plough
We all know one; the semi-rural, everyone knows everyone pub where generations have grown up to reach drinking maturity. Well, the Plough’s that kind of public inn. Only now it’s taken on a new cultural function as a place to enjoy a top meal you’d normally have to travel into the Smoke for. In the hands of respected French restaurant chain, L’Auberge, the Plough is now a destination restaurant. Its dining room has a cosy old-world meets new atmosphere; tall ceilings and dark wood beams and wooden flooring contrast with the spotless white linen draped over the tables. This being a traditional English pub, the restaurant menu lists traditional French dishes such as fish soup, ribeye steak and Burgundy snails, complemented by a predominantly French wine list. Sponsor of the famous Cobham All Stars, the Plough has strong links with Cobham Rugby Club. Very friendly staff from all the major rugby playing nations.

The service could have been more attentive, but the food was very good and well presented. The only downside when the coffee came they where cold. Beware also big parking problems in this out of the way Pub.Review
L'Auberge at the Plough: excellent service, pleasant atmosphere, no smoking is a plus. Good value, enjoyed the experience.Review
We visited L'auberge at the Plough in Cobham for an evening meal with a friend. It is set in a nice Pub setting - the Lough and so the ambience was lovely and if your husband likes Ales - then this was a good place. Service was a bit slow - as they were busy. Some of the food was hit and miss. My husbands risotto was well overcooked and more like semolina - and when we pointed this out - they did not charge us for it - so good on them. The steak tasted nice but was a but tough. Shame.Visitors
