About La Taverne
Not your normal tavern, but a grand brasserie with soaring ceilings, curving staircases, long leanable bar, chandeliers, and antique clocks everywhere, La Taverne is a great Parisian favourite. Set on a lively
boulevard between the Madeleine and the Bastille, you'll find it right for during or after sightseeing and shopping. It's a sight to see in itself! The menu features French dishes from the Alsace, on the Germanic side of the country. Try starter of classic quiche lorraine, main course of haddock on a bed of sauerkraut, and pudding of dark red
'Quetsche' plum tart. The Alsatian beers and wines are perfect complements to the meal.
Upon arrival, please inform the restaurant that your booking was made via toptable.

we arrived 30mins early as our child was starving. This was no problem and we were swiftly shown to our table. This is off the main tourist drag so we were surronded by parisians having afriday lunch out. The huge number of chandeliers added to the amibience. All in all a lovely first meal on our holidyaReview
La Taverne: Great brasserie fayre - fabulously gauche decor & pianist trumped only by a wonderfully dismissive waiter who changed my ENTIRE order by up-selling me on everything I first ordered. Food was excellent - the seafood demi-platter was ENORMOUS (far too big for 1) and very fresh. The "grey" tiny shrimp with shells on were a highlight and this comes from an avid oyster fan. Meat was well aged and recommended wines matched perfectly. Creme brulee and chocolate puds hit the spot perfectly.Review
would not recomend this restaurant, there are much better places, with better food and service. for exemple: Villa Spicy we liked very much!Visitors
