L'albufera suffered from being very quiet when we were there. Service was not excellent - no sugar served with coffee and tried to clear plates twice when not finished. Lamb was superbly cooked and the pate also very good. Overall, not wowed.

Portions at L'albufera might seem a little small but if you are having a starter, a main course and a dessert they are just right. The quality of the food is excellent.

L'albufera. I was surprised this had such a high rating. The food was average, but the service very slow with many novice waiters who were not allowed to do anything.

L'Albufera is excellent value with the 2 for 1 offer. Great food, good venue, lovely ambience and the bread is fantastic. Well worth going and we'll probably go again. The only problem was that some of the waiters were not aware of the 2 for 1 offer and gave us the wrong menu.

Not quite as good as on my first visit there. The food was still high quality, although the set menu was not as inpressive as I remembered. Staff were very attentative and professional, although when I ordered a cortado (Espresso with a shot of milk) they struggled to a degree that was surprising, if not not disturbing for a Spanish restaurant. Still outstanding value for money though.

It was like visiting your grandma circa 1965, only this time time the guilt (gilt) was in the furniture. Good place for the over 60's.

The food was average, and after many recommensations this was very disappointing. It was not very tasty and the sole was drowned in olive oil. We felt as though we were not valued customers as we were taking advantage of the deal - they even added an extra 1% onto our service charge to try to get more money from us!!! IN our experience there are many better Spanish resaurants around, which are much better value.

Not really Spanish food as I know it (45 years experience). Large room which was quite empty. Service felt as if they were doing us a favour. What is on the menu does not always match what is served on the plate - a Baba au Rhum is not a thick biscuit! In my experience if a restaurant does its fixed menu well, then everything else will be good. There's was not good and they were unable to serve the lamb pink as it was pre-cooked. Would not go back nor would I recommend it

We ate from two different set menus, choosing a selection of tapas to start and also the poached eggs with mashed potato. The paella and other rice-based main courses were very heavy and starchy and the house wine (delicious) at £6.95 for a glass very expensive. We enjoyed the service and the elegance of the restaurant and the desserts were delicious. But,on the whole, we found it incredibly expensive and heavy.

Arrived at L'albufera at 7:30 on a Friday night and the place was practically empty. This meant we had very attentive service however it also meant there was a definate lack of atmosphere - this is a place for later dining. FOr was enjoyable but not amazing. We were given a choice between two set menus in the 2 for 1 deal. Wine list good but not many wines by the glass. Prob won't be back but happy to have been.
