About La Coquille

Le Coquille restaurant in Vieux Lille just a few short steps from the Grand’ Place and the Nouveau Siecle gives you rather a huge hint in its name: this is absolutely the place in Lille for shellfish and seafood in all its glory. Set in a lovely 18th century house of exposed antique bricks and beams and fitted with typical northern rustic furniture, Le Coquille is one of the most welcoming restaurants in town. Dany and Olivier Deleval employ the freshest seasonal ingredients from local markets and seem to make everything that arrives at the table themselves. Even the bread is baked in-house. Dishes include salmon cru with olive oil on a roquette nest, red mullet on al dente vegetables with rice and ginger confit, and chocolate millefeuille with cherry Kriek jam. The formule menus including wine are superb value. The ground floor seats 60 and the first floor dining room, superb for private events, seats up to 25.

Upon arrival, please inform the restaurant that your booking was made via toptable.

Along with a group of friends, we spent New Years Eve 2008 evening at La Coquille and had a lovely time. Although the restaurant appeared to be operating on very few staff we were made to feel extremely welcome and were well looked after. The food was outstanding with 7 courses for 80 euros, and every course being tasty. We had visited this place before and enjoyed it a year earlier so La Coquille not only provides great reasonably priced food bt does it consistently! Thank you La Coquille!

The food was good and prices reasonable. There were six of us and the atmosphere was good downstairs but we were stuck upstairs.

The main part of the restaurant looked lovely but as there was a large group of us we booked the private room upstairs which was very isolated with no ambience. The staff were friendly and accommodating but the service was very slow - it took 3 hours to get through the 3 course set menu for 12 people. The food was excellent though and good value for money.
