About La Colomba
La Colomba restaurant in Venice, a few short paces from the Piazza San Marco and La Fenice theatre, has been a hub of the art scene for more than seventy years. Artists are often short of money, but as they still need to eat, hundreds of them – including Picasso and Chagall -- have left drawings and paintings as payment to La Colomba who displays them over every surface. You dine surrounded by art, a perfect accompaniment to the classic Venetian masterpiece on your plate. But La Colomba has been a restaurant, formerly a favourite with gondoliers and sailors, for more than two hundred years. Historic roots, modern delights. The menu features both typical Venetian and international cuisine, dishes like bresaola with parmesan and rocket salad, veal ravioli with tomato sauce, chateaubriand with béarnaise, accompanied by an entirely Italian wine list. La Colomba is one of Venice’s most famous restaurants and it often hosts groups of tourists, business folk and parties. Both the location and service are excellent for private events.

Never would have found this place without TopTable. Well worth it, though expensive. Excellent service, thank you Oscar. Food good but not excellent. Interesting menu with a Venetian theme. Romantic setting.Review
La Colomba offered an excellent contemporary twist on traditional Venetian fare served with attention to detail, style and good humour. Our wines were well chosen and portions were generous; something rare in restaurants of such good quality. Very highly recommended; don't ignore the desserts!Review
