About Jonathans' Restaurant
This is the more formal, but certainly not stuffy dining room for Jonathans Hotel. The decor is trad Victoriana with a menu of good old fashioned British dishes. Jonathans runs rafts of theme evenings and lunches, which take place here and in the sister restaurant The Secret Garden. The Medieval Murder Mystery sounds fantastic fun - and great value at £65.00 per person for dinner, entertainment and bed and breakfast, or get to know your onions with a Gardeners Gourmet Evening with guest speaker Ken Whittaker. All the menus are appropriately themed for each event.
What's cooking? Omelette roularde with smoked salmon and cream cheese with a prawn and coriander chutney; chicken liver pate with cumberland sauce and toasted apricot and walnut bread; lemon sole paupiettes with a red pepper crab cake; roasted guinea fowl with a juniper berry and red wine sauce; pear tart with a rich chocolate sauce; treacle sponge pudding.

We had a great meal in very pleasant setting but it was pricey.Review
Jonathan's is very decadent with gorgeous Victorian rooms. Food: Superb, beautifully presented, smashing. Drinks: Extensive wine list, bar drinks slightly expensive. I'm very satisfied with my visit.Review
Jonathons had an interesting atmosphere with a very victorian setting with quaint little eating areas arrived at through a maze of small rooms with cobbled paths. The food had a Black Country Theme but not enough choice and a little overpriced . The service could have been improved.Visitors
