About Idlewild
Day or night out, Idlewild’s ‘Pub Deluxe’ look, classic British menu and bar containing a host of quality cocktail options is on hand. The downstairs restaurant is a sophisticated space with hand crafted chandeliers and a 26 foot long solid pewter bar adorning a room which leads on to a courtyard garden hideaway. Upstairs at Idlewild light shines off the huge chandeliers to bathe the first floor grand apartment-style cocktail lounge in a sunset-like glow. Food at the restaurant is mainly British and revolves around ideas of simplicity, season and most importantly tradition – classic British dishes such as roast beef, Lancashire hot pot and jam roly poly are specialities.

Service can do with being more attentive. Food is fine. A cool environmentReview
Idlewild sounded glamorous but we were in the pub area so i guess we missed out on the sexy cocktail lounge. Food was decent but there was no going off- menu- a lactose intolerant diner was told that a brownie without ice cream on top could be difficult. I wouldn't say it's particularly vegetarian friendly either- only one veggie main course option.Review
A very seemless process booking lunch for 2 at the Idlewild very late the Saturday night before via toptable. We both opted for the 3 course set menu which was very good value for money. The food was wholesome and hearty and well prepared. A good balanced atmosphere with a mixture of familes and groups of friends. The service was attentive but not too overboard. All round a very good lunch experience. Just what you need for a lazy, hassle free Sunday afternoon!!!Visitors
