About Hotel du Vin - Brighton

The Hotel du Vin & Bistro in Brighton is just off the seafront and five minutes from the madly inspiring shops in The Lanes, but who’d want to leave? Set in a collection of gothic and Tudor revival buildings built by, so apt, a wine merchant, the hotel has the trademark stylish, witty, super comfortable décor that has won the group so many awards. The restaurant is elegant and relaxed and usually full, offering a menu rooted in classic European cuisine with a contemporary edge. The simple classics change seasonally, augmented by head chef Rob Carr’s own creations each day. The extensive, eclectic wine list is central to the hotel, with a great number of choices by the glass.

Please note - this restaurant does not take toptable bookings on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Hotel du Vin was a sumptious and atmospheric setting for a meal. The service was good and the choice of wines vast with a very knowledgable wine waiter to assist with our choice. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and reasonably good value for money. I would recommend a visit to sample the quirky and character filled building alone.

Tucked away down Ship Street, its a beautiful, faux French Bistro entered through a wonderfully open and relaxed but still welcoming bar lounge. Very effcient, friendly service, great wine list, food well presented and quick service. Tables not too cosy and certainly a haven in which to chill a deux!. Unbelievable that its 5 minutes walk from the Pier! NOw I know where to go when next I find myself at a loose end in Brighton.
