the Grand Canal restuarant provided good food, friendly service, fab views of the grand canal. Very good Hotel Restuarant, right opposite Harry's Bar, which was great for pre meal drinks.

A friendly welcome, attentive service, and excellent food at Grand Canal at the Hotel Monaco, Venice. In a perfect location for gazing out at the Bacino Di San Marco, the restaurant offers an unpretentious but well prepared range of dishes. The ambience is informal, but luxurious, and I spent a very pleasant evening there.

I dined at Grand Canal at the Hotel Monaco with my wife on our first year anniversary. We had a view of the Grand Canal and an enjoyable Venetian white wine. Our first courses--cheese mouse and an endive salad--were done well and satisfied. Our second courses were very good interpretations of classics--prawns and polenta and duck breast medallions.

We chose the Grand Canal Hotel for our 1st wedding anniversary. The setting was lovely, a table right by the window over-looking the Grand Canal, but I would suggest a later time than 8pm, as we were the 1st there (Mon) & it lacked a little in atmosphere until later. Food was not exceptional. Typically, medium was rare, so my fillet of beef was not quite to my taste. My Husband enjoyed his meat platter. Starters & desserts both average. Expensive as expected. Good wine selection. Service great.

The Grand Canal was a fabulous experience ideal location overlooking the most beautiful scenery, however, at this time (May2008) building is in progress across from the restaurant. A very 'Special' eating place to spend my very special birthday.

Even though we arrived an hour late for our table at the Grand Canal Resturant we were told this was not a problem and they directed us to a lovely table on the canel. We both had a belini before dinner which was a great start to a brilliant evening. The food was excellent and the wine as equally as nice if not a little expensive, but if you are looking to treat yourself in Venice to a lovely romantic evening I would hightly recommend Grand Canal at the Hotel Monaco!!!!

Excellent venue, we arrived late but were still served with charm and style. Although warned the kitchens were closing the food was excellent and there was no pressure to rush us through. An ideal start to a romantic week-end in Venice.

You can see why the Grand Canal at Hotel Monaco is popular, the food is excellent as is the setting. Expect to pay for where you are, wine from 40 euro upwards. on the down side you can sometimes smell the canal as with any canal side location.

This was a wonderful meal. We sat outside right on the edge of the water. All the boats and gondoleri fighting for a dock space. The food at the Grand Canal was the best we had in Venice and the staff treated us as we were special.
