Our first visit to Grainger Rooms. Excellent lunch. Had intended to have starter and main course, but couldn't resist the lemon posset! Will return

I have been to the Grainger Rooms before, and what I love is the fact it uses local, seasonal ingredients. I had some lovely hake caught from North Shields. All was cooked well, the service was very good and I really like the relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The Grainger Rooms was a pleasant experience. Whilst we were both disappointed with our starters the main course of beef was excellent and the deserts were very enjoyable, although an explanation of the cheese would have been appreciated.

An excellent meal for 2 that I would highly recommend, the set 3 course menu costs £27.50, and we had a simple salmon starter that was fresh and well presented and an excellent twist on an 80's theme a crab cocktail. Both full of flavour and made with well sourced local produce. The main courses were equally as good, roast rib of beef and hake.Portion sizes were more than ample, service was excellent, friendly and relaxed and the 'modern homely' ambience makes for a great evening.Would go again!

Grainger Rooms - Went for lunch on thursday. Unfortunately there were only two other couples, one of which left shortly after our arrival, so there was very little atmosphere. Food and service were excellent.

grainger rooms was a good friday lunchtime experience. 3 courses for 14.50 from a fixed menu was very good value. Some small details detracted from the visit but the food and the value for money made up for that. Definitely worth a visit for a celebratory lunch or just a catch up with mates.

The Grainger Rooms is Newcastle's best kept secret. I cannot overstate how good the food is. Fresh, simple menu that changes regularly. Superb value for money, especially at lunch time. Superb stuff!

I went for the early bird menu with my girlfriend; overall we were impressed with the food and restaurant decor. The atmosphere wasn't great but I doubt 6pm on a Wednesday night is the busiest night of the week! The food was delicious especially the starters (rare beef, wild watercress soup). Good meal, would recommend.
