About The Glass Lounge
Heading out to the Glass Lounge for a meal is a bit like going on an urban social safari. Located in the iconic industrial Fort Dunlop in Birmingham, the site of the former Dunlop tyre factory, this glamorous and exotic restaurant is where locals come to see and be seen. You might spot a fashionista, a foodie or two and, if you're very lucky, you might even see a local celebrity. The Glass Lounge's curious menu features exotic meats like rattle snake and crocodile, and signature dishes include the loin of zebra served with yams and okra in a rich gumbo sauce, and the white chocolate and violet tart with green ice cream.

The Glass Lounge has a lovely atmosphere, service was fantastic from both bar staff and our waitress. The menu was different than expected due to a re-think but still plenty of choice and you can watch the chef cook your meal while you wait. The food was excellent, tasted great and fantastic value highly reccommended!

fantastic choice of food, all of good standard and excellent presentation- we had foie gras starter, a fish special and meat platter which consisted of zebra, ostritch and springbok meats. too full for pudding but again, fantastic choice. i quite fancied poached pear with chocolate sauce but we were too full up. very relaxed atmosphere. the waitress did not know much about the dishes and the menu at all though. that did not spoil it for us though- we had a lovely time.Review
The Glass Lounge at Fort Dunlop is a well kept secret - the food was well presented and cooked just as we'd asked. Our waiter Kam was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was quiet but I think it has a nice ambience - the ony criticism is the menu not its content but the presentation is bizarre a sheet of A4 and a fold out normal one that states essential plates served until 7pm but when asked all food was available so the mixed Zebra, Springbok and Osterich meats we available and were lovelyVisitors
