About Giovannis Restaurant
Whitstable is famous for its seafood, so it’s no surprise that Giovanni’s restaurant features locally-caught fish on its wide-ranging menu of rustic Italian dishes. There’s sea bass with clams, mussels and prawns, spruced up with basil, garlic and lemon; king prawns, shelled and cooked with cherry toms, spring onions, mushrooms, brandy and cream; or plain grilled fillets, as fresh as the sea air. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves: before your mains, try the homemade minestrone, grilled sardines or the simple perfection of insalata tricolour. Then dig into one of those fish dishes or an Italian classic like chicken cacciatore, beef with Gorgonzola or veal Romana, all bursting with flavour. The pastas and risottos are excellent, too: try the penne puttanesca, kicking with chilli and garlic, or the rich and musky wild mushroom risotto. This is a warm, informal space that’s so friendly you’ll feel part of the family.
Opening hours:
Tues - Sun: 12 - 2.30pm & 6pm - 11pm

Celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a meal at Giovanni's restaurant in Whitstable. Lovely place. Like stepping back in time to the 70's. Food and service both very good and they are flexible if you didn't want something included in the sauce. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it.Review
Giovannis is just like Italian Restaurants used to be. Service is friendly but a bit slow. The decor is a bit tired but that kind of makes the atmosphere. Specials were good especially the homecured Gravad Lax. Might be better if they cut down the size of the menu.Review
Giovannis Restaurant, is really worth a trip, the food is fantastic, plentiful, delicious, and with a large choice. The service is both good and friendly. We would certainly return!Visitors
