I would return to the Gaucho Hampstead, or any Gaucho, simply for the quality of the steak. Awesome steak, cooked to perfection and great sauces. However I think the Gaucho should pay a little more attention to their other food - our party had fat chips, sauteed potatoes, grilled veg, spinach, asparagus and desserts which were all acceptable but nowhere near the quality of the steak.

I have alwasy found the Goucho Grill Hampstead to be much better than its west end counterpart; the food is more carefully cooked and less salty. The steaks are obviously fantastic as this is the speciality of the house, and there are some very good wines in the extensive wine list, though they are not particularly cheap. Be prepared for a large, but not extreme bill, but also bear in mind that you are paying for some excellent food, which I would rate as fair for the price.

Gaucho never fails to impress, in fact they just get better and better! After my melt-in-the-mouth fillet was finished with my favourite fat chips I was then inclined to go for cheesecake. I could eat that every day forever! The entire meal was a delight for the senses. I'm getting shivers thinking about it!!

Gaucho is quite a pricey night out but with a fantastic atmosphere and outstanding food and service, its worth it for a special occasion. We could not fault the fantastic service from extremely efficient, polite and knowledgable staff, and the place looked and felt amazing with excellent decor and great surroundings. Would recommend for a special occasion and will definately go back and take some friends to impress!

The service was excellent from start to finish! It was my boyfriends birthday, they organised champagne on arrival and even sang happy birthday! Value for money was excellent... the steaks are out of this world! Laura (I think that was her name!!) our waitress for the evening is a credit to the restaurant!

Gaucho Hampstead. Excellent choice for a company christmas lunch. Restaurant wasn't packed - so we got excellent attention. The food could not be faulted and we enjoyed cocktails and Dom Pedros afterwards. Recommended.

The steaks are excellent and the service is good. My only compaint is value for money. Once starters and coffees are added it ends up being £50 - £60 a head which is a lot for posh steak and chips. I think you can have a better meal with better service at somewhere like Hush for that price. Its also very dark, which is ok until you need to find the toilets.

You'd have to go a long way to beat Gaucho for steak and last night's visit was no exception. The 300g medium-rare fillet I ordered was absolutely perfect, and as the waiter said - it was so tender you could have eaten it with the blunt end of the cutlery. My girlfriend's marinated sirloin was a bit chewy but the service and atmosphere were very good. The nine-year-old boy accompanying us thoroughly enjoyed impersonating Blofeld in his cow-hide swivel chair "We've been expecting you Mr Bond".
