In spite of its location at The Gatwick Sofitel Hotel, the land of hurrying travellers and once-throughs, the admirable Gatwick Oriental has managed to attract a band of loyal regulars. As benefits its nearly - international location, the restaurant's menu ranges over the best of Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, Japanese, Indonesian and Singaporean cuisine. Favourites include Gatwick Hot Platter, a selection of hot hors d'oeuvres to share. Staff will make sure you make your flight, then you can sleep smugly through the airline dinner.

Our food ,served for dinner, at the Gatwick Oriental was up to its usual high standard, such as we have come to expect from previous visits, however I noticed a deterioration in the level of service coming from the - lets look out the window whilst your talking to me - etiquette manual. That plus the rather tired and old fashioned decor detracted from what should have been an excellent evening

Service charge excessive, fixed at 12.5% I would have given 10% max considering the food. However there is not much competition in the general area.Review
It is very cold in the restaurant, hence the food was cold. I would have been generous in the rating if the food was properly heated.Visitors
