1215 - this brewery was really built 785 years ago, and is mentioned in the old city records. The Gaffel-Haus is one of the oldest buildings at Alter Markt, which is also home to a number of other good pubs. Gaffel is one of the most commonly served brands of Kölsch. You can order food to go with your beer, from salads to hearty meat dishes. In summer it's nicest to sit at the tables outside, but inside there are plenty of little corners, as well as plenty of space for large groups.
