Friedrichs restaurant in the Berlin’s rather fabulous Westing Grand hotel is located at the fabled corner where Friedrichstrasse meets Unter den Linden. It’s within an easy stroll of the best shopping in Berlin, nightlife, fine cultural attractions and even the former Checkpoint Charlie. The restaurant, one of four in the hotel, is decorated in turn of the century style, with moulded ceiling, chandeliers, upholstered empire chairs, wood paneling, arched windows and a champagne colour scheme. Chef Markus Herbicht creates modern variations of classic cuisine in three-, four- and five-course meals. Dishes include roast North Sea cod in Dijon sauce with creamed sauerkraut. There are eleven function rooms for private entertaining or business events, and the modern atrium lobby is an impressive setting for balls, fashion shows and unforgettable launches.
