Fresh was a complete delight! The fish and seafood was extremely fresh and cooked simply - there were no heavy sauces to mask the flavour. The desserts were also very good - my grape sorbet was really delicious, and obviously prepared with care by the pastry chef. One of NYC's finest - well worth a visit!

Fresh was competent, but nothing to write home about. We enjoyed our meals, but they were not amazing. Fish here should be amazing- that is all they do! Could not fault freshness of the fish, and the service was good.

If you love seafood and find yourself in the south of Manhattan then Fresh comes highly recommended. I particularly enjoyed my starter of fried clams - a new one for me.

We visited Fresh on 24th November 07, I can find absolutely nothing negative to say about this restaurant, food was delicious, excellent choice, ambience was perfect - lots of chatter but not particularly noisey, service was great, there when you needed them and not when you didnt - excellent! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting New York city.

We found Fresh very good, the food, service and ambience were really good. I had the fresh lobster and they cooked it to my liking changing the way they offered it on their menu. I would have enjoyed the experience more if I had been able to enjoy a lovely bottle of wine but being 3 months pregnant this was not to be.

Booked dinner via toptable. Sadly no offer of free middle course mentioned by any of the staff. Only a minor matter since it was a fine seafood menu with plenty of flavours and choice on offer. I went for the halibut belly for the starter while my fellow diner opted for the calamari with tobiko soured cream which was highly praised (from a fussy eater!). For the entree, we went for the grill (scallops and salmon) which was generous in portion size. Attentive and friendly service.

Really looking forward to visiting Fresh in NYC. Seafood is a favourite. But what a disappointment. My first 4 choices on the menu were unavailable - why didn't the waiter just tell me this when he brought over the menu rather than letting me sit their deliberating? And that was if I could get his attention. The actual courses we finally chose were unexciting, the fish was dry and the risotto too salty. Loads of far superior restaurants in NYC - go to one of those instead.

In an elegant setting, Fresh lives up to its name with tasty, exciting seafood -- the crusted halibut on fresh vegetables was superb. One starter portion was disappointingly small -- dedlicate fried clams which were scrumptuous but overpriced for such a tiny helping. Service was uneven -- superb at the bar before dinner, but a little bit uncertain when ordering drinks from the table -- three queries about preparing a Martini before it was served. Still, an excellent meal. Recommended!
